We have been the on-site provider at Sargent Shriver Elementary School since it opened in 2006. However, we have served this community for nearly 20 years as the Weller Child Development Center. How long have you been in business?
The Association has been in operations since 1969. We have provided the program at Sargent Shriver Elementary since 2006 when the school opened. We were formally known as the Weller Child Development Center and have served this community for nearly 20 years.
What is your primary product or service?
Preschool program for children 18 months through 5 years and before and after school care for students attending Sargent Shriver Elementary School. We are a full day, year round program - including summer.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
The Executive Director began Rockville Day Care in 1969 because she saw the need for quality child development programs for working families in Montgomery County, Maryland.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We are a private, non-profit 501(c)3 corporation, we have over 40 years of experience in providing programs for children ages 18 months through 12 years of age, and as an Association we provide administrative oversight, leadership and support of all of our child development programs.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We currently have eight program locations throughout Montgomery County, Maryland. We have no plans for expansion at this time, however, we are always open to meeting community needs if a new program is desired.
