ROM was founded in 1994.
What is your primary product or service?
The real question is what businesses become rather than what ROM services are. Our clients get mission clarity, resource alignment, operational transparency, managerial accountability, strategic agility and sustained performance. We do that using a suite of services appropriate to the organization - no more or less than needed. This is primarily management consulting and facilitation services for executives and boards to create performance against mission through streamlined planning and disciplined execution.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
ROM has advised executives and boards of federal agencies, nonprofits, and private firms to better leverage their strengths and address opportunities for improvement. Although capable of providing sophisticated strategy and operational improvements, the current economy requires simplified planning and disciplined execution that is fast, efficient and easily managed by the client. An example is our One Page Business Planning that, within a month, creates straightforward one page plans aligned across business units to deliver accountability and improved management skills, and communicate performance against objectives. Best of all, it helps managers start to think like executives and makes priorities clear to employees and customers.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
(1) Experience across industries and sectors provides broad perspective, ranging from transforming an urban school district, to military planning, from merging scientific organizations to revitalizing human services and national sports associations, from engineering research to biomedical startups and from project management to survey research. (2) Commitment to consulting profession evidenced by serving as Chair/CEO of US consulting professional association and certifying body and authoring the profession's Code of Ethics and enforcement program. (3) Success in both simple and complex transformation of strategy, operations and culture through consulting and facilitation (4) Impeccable education, certification and client credentials, including serving as a lead Baldrige examiner (5) Strong client loyalty and referral base
